Customer Inspiration Photos
Nothing pleases us more than seeing how our grills are being enjoyed. Whether it's a back yard, kitchen install or new restaurant, we're fueled by the ideas YOUR experiences give us. And we know your creativity inspires that in others, too. In people who may one day buy a grill.
In this gallery you'll find all manner of grills, designs and events that we hope put a smile on your face as they have ours. You’ll also see some our favorite moments and honors over the years here, simply because we’re so humbled by them.

This Napa winery asked us to build a large scale Architectural 72 that included the ability to control the surface height from either inside or outside. The result is a fireplace that you can see the vineyard through the fire. See how.
We had the honor of working with top Australian landscape designer Charlie Albone and Eco Outdoor to assemble a display that won Best of Show, People's Choice, and Best Use of Flora at the Melbourne Garden and Flower show. The grill we chose for this was the Architectural 48 single.
José Andrés has been a longtime friend to us, and many of our grills can be found in his restaurants. But an even higher honor is that he also put an Infierno in his home's outdoor kitchen. Seen here making a cameo on Top Chef.
The Dabney's chef Jeremiah Langhorne commissioned us to create a full hearth array that reflected the Michelin-Starred restaurant's focus on elevated Mid-Atlantic fare. We used reclaimed decorative iron we salvaged from the surrounding area to fulfill his vision.
Elizabeth Roberts Architecture has placed several of our Architectural models in her beautiful interiors. This one has graced the pages of many magazines, and continues to inspire projects for our customers.
This was WILD. Chef Yann Nury called us and asked "how fast could you put a Langelier Elite onto the back of an Airstream?" It was faster than we can normally pull off an extreme custom like this, but we were so entranced with the idea that we made it happen. I mean it HAD to, right?
Wolfgang Puck has been a fan of our Infiernos for a long time, and has placed them in all the restaurants in which they fit the concept and the space. They range from an early Infierno 52, up to our Infierno X100 (shown).
Wolfgang Puck shows Alain Ducasse his Infierno 52 at New York's CUT. Alain has one of ours in his Saison Restaurant in NJ.
Supperland in Charlotte, NC occupies and old church, and they paid homage to that fact by arranging the kitchen where the altar would have been, including our dramatic Infierno X166 as the ultimate hot line and visual backdrop.
JW Heist in Boseman Montana chose twin EXO Pro built in units for their kitchen that looks out into the dining room. There is a glass divider that makes the visual much like an action-packed window without introducing too much heat or smoke anywhere it isn't wanted!
Melbourne Australia's Aru Restaurant is armed with our EXO Pro 48 and an accompanying Blanco Wood oven. They serve a fusion menu, Japanese specialties with a strong wine pairing menu.
Washington DC's Albi asked for a sleek array that reflected chef Rafidi's middle eastern aesthetic and Michelin-Starred / James Beard nominated menu.
José Andrés chose our twin Infiernos to anchor his flagship restaurant in Las Vegas, Bazaar Meat. The Infiernos are the first spectacle guests see as they enter the dining room.
Missy Robbins' masterpiece Lilia in Brooklyn was one of our very earliest Architectural installations in a restaurant. She has since won James Beard Best Chef New York and her restaurants have piled up the accolades. She's a wonderful friend to us.
The simplest installs can sometimes be the most fun. The Architectural series lends itself to making rooms, particularly kitchens, mesmerizing. There's nothing like a cooking fire to bind a party together, and most people are surprised that you CAN do this in most locales. This one belongs to Adam Sachs, writer and former editor of Saveur, and friend.
Michelin-starred Maydan Restaurant in Washington DC asked us to build a full set of hearth cooking equipment for their center-of-room hearth. We keyed the design to the historic metal work adorning Istanbul’s most famous temple, the Hagia Sophia.
This Northern California Architectural 48 was built into the entertainment area of a prefab home designed by its famed architect owners. This project was featured in DWELL Magazine.
Chef Andrew McConnell strikes a pose in front of the Architectural 48 we have installed in the EcoOutdoor event space and showroom in Melbourne, Australia. Rather than have our creations sit in cold retail outlets we prefer to have them in places where customers can witness what then can do in skilled hands and LIT!
No outdoor space suffers the presence of a cozy Architectural 36. Not showy, this size brings a space together rather than making a proclamation. Every one of our grills is fully 304 stainless steel, so the elements will not hurt anything.
James Beard himself bought an early grill and placed it at his home in New York, now the James Beard House. He wrote often of what he cooked with it. Though that original one was sold after he passed, a new generation of our grills has been used at the house on multiple chef dinners.
Atlanta star Chef Ford Fry has our grills both in his restaurants and his home, pictured. This is the Architectural 36, single wheel. In most areas an installation like this is treated as a simple fireplace, since our grills are designed for wood and introduce no variables into the space.
This custom Infierno has been standing outside the Dry Creek General Store for years now, where she's used for outdoor dinners and classes. Check out how many lamb chops she can fit!
We've now teamed up with Hestan to make sure our professional and residential models can be easily incorporated into full suites, enabling customers to add range tops, sinks, work space, and of course storage in a beautiful package.
This custom hearth built lives in West Palm Beach at restaurant Esh. Designed for maximum versatility, she includes Japanese-style binchotan boxes, a dual 36 grill, a custom oven chamber, plancha, suspension and holding zones, and our most elaborate base so far.

OUR HOME GRILLS
Built-In Architectural Grills
We also offer our Architectural line to those wanting to complete an exterior or interior design with a statement wood-fired cooking element. These grills are most recognizable to our friends in Argentina as the traditional element of any country house or ranch. Ours are built not just for utility, but to either center or aesthetically compliment a space. Standard sizes range from 36 inches wide up to 72, with many options and almost infinite customizations possible.
OUR PROFESSIONAL GRILLS & SYSTEMS
The professional space is where we get the most inspiration for new features, models and looks. This results in our pro models really pushing the envelope in both their ability to do anything an ambitious chef has in mind and also complete the look a restaurant designer knows will be key to a concept being ‘right’. And if something more can be done on either front, we want you to present us with that challenge.
The Infiernos
Our flagship self-contained grills are dubbed ‘Infierno’ for obvious reasons. These grills are built to battleship scale. They aren’t designed to melt into the background anywhere, rather they are the statement piece whether indoors, outdoors, alone or in a fiery kitchen line.
The Langelier Elite
When customers stunned by a restaurant Infierno began asking for models like them they could put in their homes we named this “smaller” category Langelier Elite, after the longtime Grillworks friend who got the first.
Professional Built-in EXO Pro Grills
Many restaurant designers and chefs have a very specific look in mind for their new space and kitchen. The EXO Pro line is intended to compliment, or add that wood grill PUNCH, to an aesthetic. These grills offer almost every capability of the Infierno line, but come ready to slide into an enclosure of the customer’s design. Where the Infierno is the whole line in a dramatic roll-in package, the EXO Pro arrives ready to be a team player.

“The best grill on this or any other planet.”
