The Grillworks Blog

Firing up one of our earliest grills, ‘The Grillery’ at our farm.

I’ve been doing this a while. And before I did, my father counted his many nights at the fire, and summer days at the workshop, as priceless opportunites to combine a life of exploring the cuisines of the world with family time at our farm in Michigan. As Dad has said:

“Exploring everything external and internal against the backdrop of fire and the Great Unknown.”

Over the course of all these adventures afar and close by, a tome of virtual lessons about life and preparing a meal have been collected by both of us. Some I have published periodicals including The Atlantic, Huffington Post and Edible Communites, some are only for our Eisendrath family lore, but there is so much more for anyone of kindred spirit.

This is where the sharing happens. The Grillworks Blog is about techniques with our beloved grills, adventures on the riverbank (and what we bring home for dinner), the voices of our more-skilled or more entertaining friends, both by way of top kitchen or backyard, and perhaps most importantly this is a place where you can ask questions in long form, far away from the chatter of social media. If you have something you’d like to know - anything - please don’t hesitate to comment here. You’ll get an answer.

Best and looking forward to hearing from you,

Ben Eisendrath
